Judge tells dad to forgive self for girl’s death…

GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) – A judge has ruled that a central Indiana man whose 4-month-old daughter died in a hot vehicle should not serve jail time, and he told the young man to forgive himself for the death.

Special Judge Kit Crane sentenced 20-year-old Josh Stryzinski of Greenfield to 20 years on probation on Friday. Stryzinski had pleaded guilty to one count of felony neglect and had faced a sentence of 20 to 50 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.

The Greenfield Daily Reporter reports Crane found that sending Stryzinski to jail would serve no purpose. Crane says there's no worse punishment than what Stryzinski already experiences.

The girl was left alone in an SUV for two hours in July 2012 while the temperature inside reached 119.
