FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A jury is being chosen in the trial of a Fort Wayne man accused of shooting at a police officer.

26-year-old Charles Benson is accused of shooting at a police officer while the driver of the car tried to speed away from a routine traffic stop in early February, according to 21Alive.

He’s charged with attempted murder, resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Benson was charged with homicide in a high-profile case in 2014, but charges were dropped when a key witness was hit and killed by a train before trial started.
