Kelly said in his conference call yesterday that Notre Dame’s 10 wins against FBS opponents and No. 1 ranking in scoring defense make it a good pick for the Top 2. Oregon was No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25, followed by Kansas State. Notre Dame was third after beating Boston College 21-6 on Saturday night. Alabama dropped to fourth.
