Kokomo DAR chapter seeks photos of Vietnam vets

KOKOMO, Ind. (AP): A central Indiana chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is seeking memorabilia commemorating 16 area veterans to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Susan Luttrell of Kokomo's DAR chapter tells the Kokomo Tribune that the “Call for Photos'' campaign is part of an effort to establish a photo wall of the more than 58,000 men and women whose names are inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

Luttrell says nearly 890 Indiana veterans have photos on file on the wall, but nearly 650 others have no photos.

Submissions will be added to the “Wall of Faces'' in the wall's education center.
