Kokomo Police Arrest 4 for Looting Tornado Damaged Liquor Store

KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) – Kokomo police says they've arrested four people for looting a tornado-damaged liquor store.

Witnesses tell police they saw the four people with backpacks exiting Soupley's liquor store Monday afternoon and leaving the area in an orange car. The Kokomo Tribune reports police stopped a matching vehicle a few blocks away and recovered about $100 worth of alcohol believed taken from the store.

Three of the four face charges of burglary and theft. The fourth faces charges of being an accomplice.

Through Friday night, the city has imposed a curfew for storm-damaged areas from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
