INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Todd Young argued that Democrat Evan Bayh accomplished little during his time as a senator, saying Bayh is all talk.
Bayh and Young clashed repeatedly during Tuesday’s Indiana U.S. Senate debate over their records in Washington.
Young said Bayh voted in support of President Barack Obama’s stimulus program and health care law that Indiana voters didn’t support.
Bayh countered that he was proud to work with Republican former Sen. Richard Lugar to support the 2008 auto bailout that rescued carmakers General Motors and Chrysler. Bayh criticized Young for campaigning against a program he says saved thousands of Indiana jobs.
