Local Banks No Longer Accepting County Property Tax Payments

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Today, the Allen County Treasurer’s office announced that because of changes in how payments are collected and processed at some local banks, they would be unable to meet certain deadlines for payment processing. Because of this, local banks will no longer be used as payment points for property taxes. Changes in internal controls changed the way they processed third-party vendors, which included tax collection. Paying property taxes at local banks was only one payment option, but the Treasurer's office says there are plenty of alternative options.
