Local Company Expanding to Auburn

WATERLOO, Ind. (WOWO): As we reported a few weeks ago, a DeKalb County recycling company is opening a second facility in Auburn.

Tuesday, MetalX formally announced a $12.4 million plan to renovate a facility and with create as many as 80 new jobs over the next three years. The plant could be operational by the early fall. Officials say they could recycle more than 100 millions pound of metal per year, much of it would have been destined for landfills.

The company also a has a facility in Waterloo that employees about 100 workers.
