FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A locally-owned funeral home chain that’s been around as long as WOWO has been bought by a Texas group.

D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes chose Service Corporation International from Houston, Texas to acquire its operations, according to a press release.

Owners Dave and Doug McComb said they went with Service Corporation because of its experience as well as “financial wherewithal”. They felt they were the best choice to serve the community going forward.

McComb & Sons was founded in 1925 and has been operated by the McComb family for the last 50 years. It currently has eight locations in Allen and DeKalb counties.
