The folks responsible for the design of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge received a third award.

The American Council of Engineering Companies paid tribute to City Engineers and local design firm, DLZ Indiana by awarding them the Engineering Excellence Merit Award.

The award recognizes distinguishing engineering design features on the bridge, including the soaring 50-foot arch, sculptural etchings and plaques with quotes from Dr. King.  

A presentation ceremony took place in Indianapolis earlier today.
