FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Fire department crews arrived at a home on the 7300 block of Kensington Drive at approximately 3:09 a.m. for a residential fire.  When crews arrived on the scene, they found all six occupants had already evacuated the home.  While firefighters got the fire under control, they also searched for the occupants pet cat.  They found the cat after several minutes and reunited it with it’s owner.

It took crews 33 minutes to bring the fire under control.  The residence suffered heavy damage.  Nobody was injured and the Red Cross was called in to assist the occupants.  The Fort Wayne Fire Department states that the fire originated in the attic.  The fire is still under investigation.
