FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): “The Road to One Million.” That's the name of the latest initiative from the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority.

As explained on their website, it's part of a push for the region to reach one million residents, and kicked off with the unveiling of a giant flag on the side of Sweetwater Sound in Fort Wayne yesterday. The Authority is hoping to lay claim to some $42-million in funding from the state's Regional Cities Initiative, and plan on doing that by increasing northeast Indiana's annual population growth rate from 0.7% to 2.1%.
