Notre Dame Suspends Fifth Player while NCAA Violations Investigation Continues

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WOWO): Officials with the University of Notre Dame have decided to hold another player from practice while the NCAA violations investigation continues.


According to the Elkhart Truth, the fifth football player has been suspended from the University of Notre Dame football team.


Per a release from John Heisler, the school’s senior associate athletic director, “As Notre Dame's internal investigation relating to potential NCAA violations reaches its conclusion, a decision has been made to hold a fifth football player out from practice and competition. As with all cases of suspected academic dishonesty, the matter will now be subject to the University's honor code process.”


A university official has confirmed that the fifth player is defensive back Eilar Hardy.
