FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person is in critical condition after a house fire in the 1400 block of Saint Marys Avenue near Sherman Boulevard.
Jeff Bowman with our partners in news at ABC 21 tells WOWO News, flames broke out at the home around 9:40 a.m., Monday. The 9-1-1 call came from inside the home. The resident reported a lot of smoke and flames.
Once the Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived on the scene, they went inside the home and found one person. The occupant was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition due to smoke inhalation.
Meanwhile the house suffered minor damage and investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
