One rescued from house fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person had to be rescued from a house fire last night in Fort Wayne.

Firefighters responded to a call at 1620 Colerick Street on Fort Wayne’s southeast side a little before 11pm to find a fire in the home’s kitchen that had trapped one person inside. Crews found a man in the home’s bathroom and were able to get him out while keeping the fire contained.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment while the fire was brought under control in about 6 minutes.

It did a moderate amount of damage to the home, and the fire’s cause is under investigation.
