Osgood Family Auctioning off Decades of History

OSGOOD, Ind. (AP) – A southeastern Indiana family with a long history of operating businesses in a small town is ready to auction off decades' worth of memorabilia from those establishments.

The Ripley County town of Osgood about 60 miles southeast of Indianapolis has been home to numerous businesses named after family patriarch Louis Damm and his descendants.

Those include the Damm Theatre, the Damm Tailor, the Damm Bakery and Lunchroom and Bob & Judy's Damm Good Pizza & Donuts.

Cindy Smotherman and her Firehouse Antiques-Estate Sales of New Harmony will be coordinating The Damm Theatre/Family Estate Sale set to run Nov. 1-3 in Osgood.

The event will include a sizable collection of memorabilia from the Damm Theatre, which the Damm family owned until the late 1990s.
