Ossian Man Sentenced for Crash that Killed Two Northern Wells Students

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WOWO): The 19-year-old facing charges for a crash that resulted in the deaths of two Northern Wells High School students, has been sentenced.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, Andrew Serafini of Ossian, was sentenced to 8 years in prison with 2 years suspended as part of a plea deal.

Police say Serafini was driving drunk on Wells County Road 900 North near Markle when the vehicle started to hydroplane from water on the road.  Serafini attempted to over-correct and crashed into a tree.

18-year-old Johnny Kidwell of Ossian and 17-year-old James McCune of Markle were killed in the October crash. Both were students at Norwell High School.

19-year old Abigail Harris of Ossian, a passenger in the vehicle, was also injured.

Serafini's BAC was almost twice the legal limit.
