INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): John Mellencamp will be happy if the law wins this time.

House Concurrent Resolution 14 has passed through committee, meaning renaming Interstate 65 “John Mellencamp Way” is close to happening.

The House Roads and Transportation Committee unanimously passed the resolution. Next it goes to the full House for consideration. If passed, the section of I-65 between exit 34 and 50 will be named in honor of the famous Hoosier.

Representative Terry Goodin authored the resolution. He tells Inside Indiana Business that it would be a “fitting tribute for his many successes.”
