FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A four month long criminal investigation by Indiana State Police came to an end Thursday with the arrest of 28-year-old Jared Smith of Portage.

In June, detectives initiated an investigation after a 22-year-old Indianapolis woman reported that Smith had allegedly raped her at a Fort Wayne hotel. She said that Smith entered her unlocked hotel room, climbed into her bed and had sexual intercourse with her while she slept. According to the woman, he stopped and left after she woke up.

He was arrested and taken to the Allen County Jail with a $10,000 bond.
