HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) _ Purdue University Calumet's chancellor says the campus will cut more faculty through seven layoffs and an early retirement package.
 
  Chancellor Thomas Keon announced the steps during a meeting with faculty Thursday.
 
  Campus spokesman Wes Lukoshus says12 faculty members already have committed to taking the early retirement package that's available through Sunday, the day before a new contract year begins for about 250 tenured and tenure-track faculty on the Hammond campus.
 
  Lukoshus says the campus is in the process of notifying seven tenure-track faculty members they will be laid off at the end of their current contracts, after one or two more years of teaching.
 
  Purdue Calumet announced in April that it would cut 50 tenure-track faculty and staff by the end of 2014 to close a deficit.
