Purdue to learn Kaplan acquisition fate soon

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Network Indiana): Purdue University will soon learn if it can proceed with its acquisition of Kaplan University. Purdue said nearly a year ago it would pursue buying the online college.

It’s already gotten the “okay” from the U.S Department of Education, but it still needs approval from the Indiana Higher Learning Commission. The HLC voted Thursday, but Purdue will not know the outcome of the vote for another couple weeks.

If approved Purdue will make Kaplan the online leg of the university, known as Purdue University Global.
