Robber Shouts “Police!” During Attempt, Steals Nothing

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are looking for two men who tried to rob a woman's home Thursday, but failed after trying to pose as police.

A woman who lives in Oaklawn Court tells police she had just gone to bed when she heard a man shout “Police!” Thursday night. The man then reportedly dragged her out of bed an held a gun to her head.

According to the Journal-Gazette, the robber then sorted through two closets, asking the victim where the money was. After failing to find anything, a second robber standing at the front door told the first robber it was time to go, and the two fled empty-handed.

Police describe the first robber as a man in his 30s, standing 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a yellow/gold shirt underneath, black pants, and boots. He also had a mask covering the bottom half of his face. The second robber was also in his 30s, about the same height, and also wore a hooded sweatshirt.
