School Buses Involved in String of Crashes in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ School buses have been involved in three separate crashes in Indianapolis, and police say a handful of students have been hurt.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Linda Jackson says ambulances took four children Thursday to Riley Hospital for Children after an Indianapolis Public Schools bus was involved in a crash about 8 a.m. on the city’s northeast side. She did not know how badly the children were injured, but says the accident wasn’t serious.

Jackson says a Pike Township school bus carrying two students collided about 7:20 a.m with a car on the city’s northwest side, and at 8:40 a.m. another IPS bus crashed on the city’s northeast side. No injuries were reported in those crashes.

Jackson had no further details on any of the crashes.
