Soldiers from Slovakia Training with Indiana Guard

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): More than 70 soldiers from the European country of Slovakia are in Indiana for training with National Guard troops.

The Indiana Guard says the Slovak soldiers arrived in Indianapolis on Monday and will participate in training exercises to familiarize themselves with U.S. military tactics, techniques and procedures.

The Slovak troops will spend some of their time at the Indiana Guard's Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh and the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center near North Vernon.

Guard officials say Indiana and Slovakia have had a 21-year partnership as part of the National Guard's State Partnership Program. About 120 Indiana Guard troops are now in Slovakia as part of a NATO initiative.
