Storm Prompts Cancellation of Indiana Capitol Event

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The threat of heavy weekend snow has prompted Governor Mike Pence's office to cancel Saturday's portion of Indiana's “Christmas at the Capitol” event.

The governor's office says this afternoon's musical events at the Indiana Statehouse were canceled due to the impending storm that could dump several inches of snow on the Indianapolis area overnight and Saturday.

The governor and Indiana first lady Karen Pence are still scheduled to take part in Friday evening's portion of the “Christmas at the Capitol” event that will feature holiday performances by students from nearly a dozen Indiana high schools and universities.
