Thor Industries Moving Headquarters to Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) _ Recreational vehicle maker Thor Industries Inc. will move its corporate headquarters to Elkhart, where it says 70 percent of its operations are located.

Thor Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter Orthwein says the company also wanted to be more accessible and active in the community where a large majority of RVs are produced. Elkhart in northern Indiana bills itself as the RV capital of the world.

Thor, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of RVs and a major builder of commercial buses and ambulances, is moving its headquarters from Jackson Center, Ohio, to a new facility in Elkhart that is scheduled to open in the spring.
