GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) – A judge has sentenced three northern Indiana teenagers to 50 or more years in prison on murder convictions after an accomplice was fatally shot by a homeowner during a break-in.
 
Elkhart Circuit Judge Terry Shewmaker sentenced 17-year-old Blake Layman of Elkhart and 19-year-old Anthony Perez Sharp Jr. of Goshen to 55 years in prison Thursday and 18-year-old Levi Sparks of Elkhart to 50 years in prison. Prosecutors say Sparks acted as a lookout during the Oct. 3, 2012, break-in.
 
The three faced felony murder charges under state law because they were committing a crime when homeowner Rodney Scott opened fire with a handgun, fatally wounding 21-year-old Danzele Johnson and hitting Layman in the leg.
 
Another accomplice, 17-year-old Jose Quiroz, pleaded guilty to felony murder and was sentenced to 45 years.
