Truckers planning I-465 protest

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): If you have plans to drive to Indianapolis tomorrow morning, leave early.

Truckers are planning a “slow-roll” convoy on I-465 in Indy tomorrow morning to protest what they call “burdensome and expensive rules” connected to new laws that require them to use electronic logging devices.

Driver Steven Hernandez tells Fort Wayne’s NBC the problem is those new log books put most truckers on the same schedule, leaving rest areas full:

“That’s when the police come by to write us tickets because there’s no place for us to park.”

Some are OK with the change, however, saying that it forces drivers to get rest and keep them from cheating on their logs.
