Unlikely Workers Aid Charity Project

PENDLETON, Ind. (WOWO): You'll probably not be surprised by the charity work, but you might be by who's doing it.

The second shipment of refurbished wheelchairs are making their way to Romania from Pendleton in central Indiana. They are part of the Wheels for the World program.
And according to Indianapolis TV station, RTV6, prisoners at Pendleton Correctional Facility are behind the work. So far, more than 400 chairs have been repaired at the prison.
Officials say the program is changing lives, both among those in need and the prisoners themselves.

A superintendent at the prison called it, humbling.
