Vigo County Student After Low-Level School Threat

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP): A western Indiana student has been arrested after what school officials call a low-level threat at a middle school.

The Vigo County School Corporation said Thursday the student has been charged with false informing, a level 6 felony, following the threat at Otter Creek Middle School. A news release issued by Superintendent Danny Tanoos says no students or staff members were in danger at any time.

Tanoos says the school corporation plans to ask that the student to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Tribune-Star and WTHI-TV report the student has been lodged in the Vigo County Juvenile Center in Terre Haute. His age and grade level were not disclosed, nor was the nature of the threat.
