Woman involved in Indy explosion, agrees to temporary nursing license suspension…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ An Indianapolis registered nurse charged with setting a deadly house explosion has agreed to an emergency suspension of her Indiana nursing license.

The indiana Attorney General’s office said Wednesday that Monserrate Shirley agreed to the suspension pending the outcome of her trial on charges of two counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit arson and 45 counts of arson. Also charged are her boyfriend, Mark Leonard, and his brother, Bob Leonard.

A Nov. 10 explosion at Shirley’s Indianapolis home destroyed the residence and other nearby houses, killing a couple living next door and causing about $4 million in damages.

The Indiana State Board of Nursing is scheduled to consider Attorney General Greg Zoeller’s request for the suspension Thursday.
