INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ An Indianapolis airport spokesman says a single-engine airplane crashed on a runway that is no longer active, leading to one person being taken to the hospital with injuries.
Indianapolis International Airport Authority spokesman Carlo Bertolini says the incident occurred about 12:20 p.m. Friday. He says the plane had taken off from the airport hours earlier to perform aeronautical work and experienced some sort of failure.
He says a second person on the airplane declined treatment.
He says the incident didn't impact other operations at the airport.
