2 hospitalized after a ceiling collapsed in Fort Wayne home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman and child were hospitalized after a ceiling collapsed early Friday morning.

Fort Wayne firefighters and paramedics were called to the 2900 block of Sandpoint Road at about 7 a.m. When crew arrived, they found a woman covered in dry wall and soot because a ceiling had collapsed in her bedroom, according to our news partners at 21Alive. 

A young child was in the house when the ceiling collapsed. The woman and child were hospitalized as a precaution.

Crews are investigating the incident and are trying to learn why the ceiling fell.
