The father of some school children got a very special delivery on Monday.

Staff Sargent Andrew Jenkins surprised his three children at Blackhawk Middle School and Haley Elementary.  He delivered the news of his upcoming retirement with hugs to 11 year old Andy, 9 year old McKenna and 7 year old Chloe.

21 Alive reports the 2002 Snider High School grad spent 14 years in the Army, with 6 of those on deployment or field time.

When he joined his children in person Monday afternoon, it was to let them know he was home for good.  It was a secret appearance that many kept.  Jenkins was able to announce in person that he is retiring from the Army.
