65 Years for Bloomington Adult Store Stabbing

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – A man has been sentenced to 65 years in prison in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Bloomington adult entertainment store clerk.

Monroe Circuit Judge Marc Kellams sentenced 28-year-old Michael Angle Jr. on Monday. A jury last month found Angle guilty of felony murder and voluntary manslaughter in the November 2011 slaying of 47-year-old Lauren Kahn of Bedford. Kahn was stabbed more than 30 times with a folding knife. She called 911 as she lay dying on the floor of the store.

During his trial, Angle told jurors he remembered walking into the store on the night of the stabbing, but could not remember what happened once inside.

Angle claimed to be not guilty because he was insane at the time of the stabbing.
