FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says a Fort Wayne man is facing charges after he was found with enough fentanyl to potentially kill a quarter of a million people.

According to our partners in news at 21Alive, deputies and the Allen County Drug Task Force tried to stop a driver on Tuesday morning near Washington Center Road and Dartmouth Drive, on Fort Wayne’s north side.

The driver, 31-year-old Miroslav Cuckovic, took off and was arrested after a brief pursuit. During the investigation, officers say they found a half kilogram of fentanyl, enough to potentially kill over 250,000 people.

Cuckovic was released from prison earlier this year after pleading guilty to battery by means of a deadly weapon in a May 2020 case. He is now charged with dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug and resisting law enforcement.
