FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Komets were unable to finish off their Central Division Finals series Saturday night, falling 4-1 to the Toledo Walleye at Huntington Center.

Toledo carried momentum over from Friday night’s win and jumped out early, scoring four unanswered goals across the first two periods to take control of the game.

The Komets avoided the shutout late in the second period when Harrison Rees scored at the 18:38 mark, but Fort Wayne could not generate any additional offense the rest of the way.

While the Komets held Toledo scoreless in the third period, they were unable to cut further into the deficit.

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne still leads the best-of-seven series 3-2. The series now shifts back to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for Game 6 on Tuesday night.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
