Tehran Aims To Secure Long-Term Strait Of Hormuz Deal With Oman, Spokesperson Says

(FOX NEWS) — Iran is aiming to secure a mechanism with Oman to ensure long-term security in the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told state TV on Wednesday, according to reports.

Baghaei also said that Tehran was ready to develop protocols for safe shipping traffic in cooperation with other coastal states, without providing further details, Reuters reported.

His remarks came as the U.S. military continued its blockade of Iranian ports.
