Gallery Owner Starts NE Ind. Hub of Leader Group

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): A Fort Wayne art gallery owner is assembling a team of people in their 20s for a chapter of an international network that promotes professional growth while dealing with societal issues and problems.

Dan Swartz says it took a little work to persuade officials of Global Shapers that Fort Wayne was worthy of a chapter. The initiative by the Geneva, Switzerland-based World Economic Forum usually likes to locate chapters in political or financial capitals. It has more than 270 chapters, or hubs, with about 3,000 members.

Swartz says he hopes to have 15 or so members within a year. He says he's looking for entrepreneurs as well as people doing great things within a company setting.
