More reports of “Grandparent Scam” Reported to Sheriff’s Office and Angola Police

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO):  The Steuben County Sheriff's Office and the Angola Police Departments have continued to take reports of calls involving the “Grandparent Scam.”

The scammers are making phone calls stating they’re calling from out of the county. They continue to claim that they have contact with the grandchild of the person being called and are attempting to help them get money for bail, a ticket, a crash, or their hospital stay.

Officers say to always know where your children and grandchildren are and never agree to give financial information over the phone.
