AKRON, Ind. (WOWO): An area school was targeted in a break-in this morning.

Authorities in Kosciusko County someone forced their way into Tippecanoe Valley Middle School near Akron. An early investigation shows indicates an intruder attempted to steal money and prescription medication and musical instruments.

Police say there was damage to the school, including office areas. 

If you have information, you are asked to call the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department. School officials say the school is secure and operating as normal.
