Allen County Council Approves Change in Sheriff Department Staffing

He's not Sheriff-yet, but he's gotten an early show of support from Allen County Council.

Allen County's Sheriff-Elect David Gladieux is making some subtle changes to the Sheriff's Department.

He's creating two deputy chief positions. That request, and increasing their salaries was approved Thursday by the county council.

According to the Journal-Gazette, Gladieux says under the current system, captains lead the department, and their responsibilities have increased.

The salary and title should match it. The will be no changes in staffing, just the titles and some new items on their job description, according to the newspaper report.

Gladieux will be sworn in December 30.
