The Latest Unemployment Numbers Show Jobless Numbers Holding Steady

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The latest unemployment report for Indiana shows the jobless rate holding steady at 5-point-7 percent. That's due mainly to the addition of more than 12-thousand individuals to the Hoosier labor force. Over the past year, the job force has increased by more than 75,000.

November also marks the 11th consecutive month Indiana’s unemployment rate has been below the national average.

Locally, the jobless rate in Allen County rose from 4-point-9 percent in October to 5-point-3 percent in November. That's still nearly a point below the jobless rate from a year ago. Statewide, industries adding the most jobs include Professional & Business Services, Trade, Transportation & Utilities, and Manufacturing.
