FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person is dead after a three-vehicle crash on West Jefferson Boulevard near the entrance of Lutheran Hospital.

According to police, just after 9:00 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of West Jefferson Boulevard and Olde Canal Place.

A driver of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A short time after arriving, the driver was pronounced dead. The other drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash were not injured.

According to police, two of the vehicles were stopped at the intersection when a van struck one of the vehicles as the van then collided into a utility pole. It is possible that the driver of the van may have suffered from some type of medical condition prior to the collision.
