Man Hospitalized After Accidentally Injured by Police

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Just before 7, officials served a narcotics warrant at a home on E. Branning Avenue. After locating the suspect, 30-year-old Michael Houston, an officer's weapon unintentionally discharged, striking Houston in his thigh. He was then taken to the hospital where he was treated for a soft tissue wound. He was later released and transported to the Allen County Jail on a number of charges including dealing cocaine or heroin. As a part of department protocol, the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while the incident is under investigation.
