Indiana Snowstorm Impacts Basketball Fans

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A snow storm forecast to dump 6 inches or more of snow across much of central Indiana is testing the loyalties of basketball fans traveling to watch their teams play in the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning saying snow will increase in intensity late Sunday afternoon and evening, likely impacting the travel of basketball fans driving home from the Indiana University men’s game in Dayton, Ohio, and the Purdue woman’s game in Louisville, Ky.

The weather service predicted 6-10 inches of snow would fall by Monday morning south of a line from Greensburg to Sullivan and 3-6 inches north of that line.

The Indianapolis Division of Homeland Security said it would activate its emergency operations center Sunday night.
