State Freezes Auditor’s Assets

LAPORTE, Ind. (AP): The state has frozen the assets of former LaPorte County deputy auditor who it says embezzled about $150,000 in public funds. The Indiana attorney general's office said yesterday it obtained a temporary restraining order against Mary Ray, who is retired from her position as deputy auditor in the county auditor's office.
