Facebook Post Leads Indiana Woman to Birth Family

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – An Indiana woman's Facebook plea for help finding her birth mother has led to new connections with a family she never knew she had.

Elizabeth Gail Boys posted her request on the social media site last week. The page titled “Betsy's Biological Journey” received nearly 6,000 likes within a week, and within 36 hours, the Southport woman had been connected to her biological family.

Boys tells The Indianapolis Star she decided to search for her birth mother after seeing a “Today” show story about Dr. Nancy Snyderman and her adopted daughter's search for her own birth mother.

Boys' birth mother has health issues and the two ladies haven't met yet. But she's connected with her biological brother and other family members.
