Indy Pizza Deliveryman Slain, 2nd Killing in 2 Weeks

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police say a 30-year-old man was shot to death while delivering a pizza, making him the second pizza delivery driver slain in the city in less than two weeks.

Lt. Chris Bailey says Daniel Jaffke was pronounced dead Friday night at Eskenazi Hospital after he was found lying in a parking lot on the city's south side. He had worked for a Papa John's store.

Police say the person who ordered the pizza reported the shooting to police and is not considered a suspect.

Jaffke's cousin, Katelyn Rouse, tells The Indianapolis Star Jaffke's death has devastated his family and a close-knit group of friends.

She says her cousin was a talented, serious musician who “just wanted to reach as many people as he could through his music.”
