Woman Guilty of Murder in Indy Church Shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A central Indiana judge found a 47-year-old Indianapolis woman guilty of murder in the shooting death of a pastor inside his church.

The Indianapolis Star reports Marion Superior Court Judge Kurt Eisgruber on Friday also ruled Lori Ann Barcroft is mentally ill. Barcroft's public defenders have argued that she is mentally ill and not responsible for her actions at the time when she shot 29-year-old Jaman Iseminger in May 2012 in Southport, a municipal enclave within the Indianapolis city limits.

Dr. Stephanie Callaway, an Indianapolis-based psychologist hired by the defense team, testified that delusions and symptoms of schizophrenia drove Barcroft's behavior the day she shot Iseminger.
